Hey there, truck pros!
Welcome back to "The CSM Corner"! This month, we're focusing on a critical aspect of your success: inventory management. Optimizing your vehicle listings within the Work Truck Solutions platform is essential for attracting local buyers on your website and boosting your visibility on Comvoy, the national Work Truck Solutions' marketplace.
Part 1: Elevate Your Listings for Local Impact
Providing comprehensive and accurate vehicle information is key to building trust with local customers and driving qualified leads. Here's how to make your listings shine:
Upfit Invoices: The Power of Detail: While general vehicle descriptions often come from data feeds, Work Truck Solutions empowers you to showcase the specifics of upfits. By providing your upfit invoices, you enable the platform to display detailed upfit information, similar to chassis specifications. We're also able to attach spec sheets that the body manufacturer has provided us in the form of PDFs for the customer to browse. This gives your customers the in-depth information they need, reducing inquiries about basic measurements and specs, and leading to more qualified leads.
Visual Appeal: The 10-Photo Advantage: In today's fast-paced digital world, visuals are crucial. High-quality photos capture attention and provide essential information quickly. Work Truck Solutions supports showcasing your vehicles with multiple photos, and we recommend including at least 10 high-quality photos to allow customers to thoroughly visualize the vehicle and its features.
Part 2: Optimize for Comvoy Visibility
Your Work Truck Solutions inventory also feeds into Comvoy, expanding your reach to a national audience. To maximize your visibility and attract more buyers on Comvoy, consider these key factors:
Accurate Location: Ensure your vehicle listings have the correct location information. This is crucial for Comvoy's default search sorting, which prioritizes vehicles closest to the buyer's entered zip code.
Upfit Designation: If a vehicle has upfits, make sure it's correctly marked as such in the listing. Upfitted vehicles receive a boost in Comvoy search results.
Body Invoice Attachment: Attaching a body invoice to the VIN provides an additional boost to your vehicle's ranking on Comvoy.
Photo Count: Comvoy's search algorithm favors listings with up to 10 high-quality photos, giving them a boost in search results.
"Not Upfit" Accuracy: For bare chassis or empty vans, ensure they are correctly designated as "Not Upfit." This improves Comvoy's search accuracy and helps buyers find the right vehicles.
Bonus Tip:
Inventory Action Items: Stay proactive! Your Work Truck Solutions platform highlights inventory issues with red, clickable action items at the top of your inventory management page. These action items filter your inventory to show listings that need attention.
Why This Matters
Enhanced Customer Experience: Providing detailed and visually appealing listings on your website builds trust and generates more qualified leads.
Increased Visibility: Optimizing your inventory for Comvoy improves your search ranking and attracts a wider audience of buyers.
Sustained Success: Consistent data completeness (photos, invoices, accurate designations) directly impacts buyer engagement and overall lead generation. We've observed that dealerships that become lax in maintaining their listings often see a downward trend in these key performance indicators.
Improved Efficiency: By keeping your inventory information accurate and up-to-date, you streamline your sales process and save time.
This Month's Action Items:
Action Item Check-Up: Review and resolve any open action items on your inventory management page.
CSM Consultation: Contact your CSM to explore how consistently complete vehicle data impacts overall lead generation, buyer engagement, and other key performance indicators.

Say ‘Hello’ to Tyler Searles, our April Dealer Spotlight!
How long has Tomes Auto Group been serving the community?
Tyler: Tomes Auto Group has proudly served the North Dallas community for over 40 years. We're a family-owned business with deep roots in the area, and we're committed to providing excellent service to our customers.
What is Tomes Auto Group’s favorite way to give back to the local area?
Tyler: One of our favorite ways to give back is through local partnerships and sponsorships that support schools, first responders, and community events. We believe in showing up for the people who show up for us.
What is your role at the dealership?
Tyler: I manage commercial and fleet sales at the dealership. I oversee our fleet inventory from arrival to sale, ensuring everything is ready for our customers from day one. Having a tech background has also led me to become the “fleet IT guy” around here—I’ve been working on streamlining a lot of our internal processes by implementing automation and AI wherever possible.
How has Work Truck Solutions helped you in your role?
Tyler: Work Truck Solutions has been a huge asset. It allows me to showcase our commercial inventory online in a way that’s clear and easy for our customers to understand. It also helps streamline the process of connecting the right truck to the right buyer.
What's your favorite thing about working with commercial trucks?
Tyler: My favorite thing about working with commercial trucks is helping customers build something that really works for them. Whether it's a plumber needing a service body or a landscaper needing a dump truck, it's rewarding to provide real solutions that help people grow their businesses.
What's one piece of advice you would like to give customers?
Tyler: One piece of advice I’d give customers is to plan ahead. With build times, upfits, and market demand, it’s always better to start the process early so you have the best chance of getting exactly what you need, when you need it.
Would you recommend Work Truck Solutions to other dealerships? Why?
Tyler: Absolutely—I would recommend Work Truck Solutions to other dealerships. It’s a powerful platform that helps bridge the gap between commercial buyers and sellers, and it’s been a key part of how we’ve grown our presence in the work truck space. On top of that, their team and events have been a huge resource for me personally. As someone who’s relatively new to the industry, having access to that kind of support and insight has made a big difference in helping me grow and succeed in my role.
I have been with Work Truck Solutions for two and a half years, and the highlight of my role is the dynamic interaction with our dealers. I find it particularly fulfilling to understand each dealership's unique aspirations and offer tailored support to facilitate their success.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my dogs, often going on walks and hikes. A significant upcoming event for me is my family's annual PRCA rodeo in May. It's a fantastic event that I'm deeply involved in! I manage the bar and its staff, and it's incredibly rewarding to witness my family's hard work culminate in such a significant occasion.
In 2025, I'm looking forward to deepening and expanding my relationships with dealers. I'm committed to understanding their unique challenges and goals, and to providing them with the resources and guidance they need to achieve sustainable growth and maximize their success.
