Don’t Wait for Q1: Why Your 2026 Commercial Vehicle Plan Needs a Digital Check-Up Now
Say ‘Hello’ to Darren Alvarez, our November Dealer Spotlight!
How long has Big Bend Chevrolet Buick been serving the community?
Darren: Big Bend has been in operation since 2017 and was formerly Scoggins Chevrolet for 30+ years.
What is Big Bend Chevrolet Buick’s favorite way to give back to the local area?
Darren: Although Big Bend is involved throughout the entire Chiefland community, we have been a very big supporter of the Suwannee River Youth Fair Program. We recently auctioned off a brand new Chevrolet Silverado and donated all the proceeds collected back to the program.
What is your role at the dealership?
Darren: As I'm sure most can relate, my role at Big Bend Chevrolet varies each day, however, my primary role is Commercial Fleet Manager.
How has Work Truck Solutions helped you in your role?
Darren: Work Truck Solutions has been a great partner and great tool to have when it comes to visibility and accessibility of our inventory. Giving customers all around the Florida and the Southeast sector instant accessibility to not only our available vehicle info but also to us, as dealer representatives.
What's your favorite thing about working with Work Truck Solutions?
Darren: Believe it or not, the customers. The owners. Being a prior owner myself of a few businesses for 10+ years, we're all a bunch of colorful people. lol
What's one piece of advice you would like to give that has helped you throughout your career?
Darren: ALWAYS UNDER PROMISE & OVER DELIVER. Never the other way around.
Would you recommend Work Truck Solutions to other dealerships? Why?
Darren: Absolutely. I have had a successful run in the few years I've been in the commercial industry and a big part of that is Work Truck Solutions.

How to Leverage Technology Without Losing Your Human Touch
Dottie's trip to Scotland was a transformative blend of stunning nature, unexpected human connection, and exceptional food, all anchored by seamless companionship.
Fairy Pools: The absolute pinnacle. Despite the misty, rainy, and muddy conditions, Dottie found the experience with the natural waterwalls to be intensely spiritual and transcendental. She greatly preferred the atmosphere of the Highlands over the cities.
2. Glasgow Restaurant Encounter: A Pakistani restaurant provided an unexpected human highlight. The Iranian waiter, Jaffa (who had a nuclear science PhD), offered a fascinating global perspective, proving travel is about more than just sights.
3. The Food Experience: Every meal was elevated, intentional, and memorable. The cuisine was noted for its depth, deliciousness, and commitment to locally sourced ingredients, making each dish an "experience."
The core joy was the companionship. Traveling with her best friend and husband was seamless; the group "gelled together very well." As the planner, Dottie’s favorite memory was simply sharing her meticulously organized trip with the people she loves, who fully trusted and showed up for the adventure.
The one major disappointment was having to skip the scenic Quiraing hike. Intense switchbacks combined with the impact of Storm Amy made the route inaccessible, leaving a perfect reason for a return visit.
